Saginaw Heritage Hockey beat the Kalamazoo Eagles 2-1 in triple overtime in the State Quarterfinals on Saturday, March 7th, in a 1 p.m. contest at the Kensington Valley Ice House. The game remained scoreless after the first period. Saginaw Heritage Senior Forward Brady Rappuhn scored in the second period with assists coming from Matt Cole and Ethan Houck. The Eagles would tie the game on a power play goal in the third period. The game remained tied at one goal apiece after regulation. Saginaw Heritage Junior Forward Ethan Houck scored 5:48 into the third overtime for the game winner with the assist coming from John-Michael Watson. Senior Jacob Winters had 40 saves in the win. The Hawks will advance to the State Semi-Finals at USA Hockey Arena on Friday, March 13th, at 7:30 p.m. This will be the third year in a row for the Hawks to reach to the final four. Saginaw Heritage improved their record to 25-3 for the season.
