What have you learned from athletics that will help you in college?

Participating in athletics at Heritage for 4 years has taught me that persistence and a positive attitude/outlook will take you much farther than you think. It has also taught me to keep my goals in sight and to work hard towards them regardless of how far off they seem. These lessons are very applicable in areas outside of sports as well, and I plan on continuing to use them in college with my educational and extracurricular feats.

FUTURE PLANS

I plan on studying Computer Science and Art at Carnegie Mellon University and possibly joining a running club there.

What have you learned from athletics that will help you in college?

One of the main things I learned from athletics is how to stay positive through challenging times, and that hard work, dedication, and persistence pays off.  My junior year of track I broke my wrist, and then after that I got a stress fracture in my foot which ended my season.  I stayed positive throughout all of this and as soon as I could run again, I began training and ended up running a faster time in my senior year cross-country season than I did my junior year.  I will use this as motivation in college when I am stressed and feel like giving up, and will stay dedicated to pursuing my career through college, and after graduating.

FUTURE PLANS

My future plans include attending SVSU and pursuing a degree in some form of engineering, and possibly minor in Spanish.
