UPDATE March 13, 12:00 PM: Late last night, Gov. Whitmer announced a mandatory closure of all K-12 schools in order to slow the spread of Coronavirus. Superintendent Martin and his executive cabinet met this morning and decided that Saginaw Township Community Schools is shutting down all school-related functions effective at dismissal today.

As a result, there will be absolutely no athletics-related activities until further notice.
This means the following activities are prohibited:
  • Practices (indoor & outdoor, on-campus, off-campus)
  • Individual workouts
  • Strength & conditioning workouts
  • Banquets — banquets for boys basketball, hockey, and swim & dive may be rescheduled after 4/6
  • Fundraisers (no door-to-door or group activities – students selling cards to their family members is fine)
  • Games, meets, events
  • Coach directed workouts (no communication of practice plans or workouts for team to complete on their own)
  • Team get-togethers

This list is not exhaustive and is subject to change as we get more and/or new information. Simply put, no activities are permitted. There will be no access to district grounds or buildings during this period.

UPDATE March 12, 3:00 PMBased on recommendations from Governor Gretchen Whitmer, the Saginaw County Health Department, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), attendance at home Heritage High School and White Pine Middle School athletic events will be limited to parents, legal guardians, and essential game workers/administrators. Grandparents, siblings, and other family and/or friends will not be permitted. While we understand this is frustrating for all parties, we feel it is necessary to take precautions to keep our students and community safe.

We will be streaming home events that happen at Larsen Field and White Pine Middle School Stadium. Click here for a link to upcoming events that will be streamed: https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/saginaw-heritage-high-school-saginaw-mi

Practices will continue as scheduled for the time being.

In regards to the MHSAA Boys Swim & Dive and Ice Hockey Finals, the MHSAA has decided to immediately and indefinitely postpone these events.

This is a very fluid situation. As new information becomes available, we will evaluate and adjust our plan as necessary.
